Happy Thursday Arteests! The weekend is almost upon us! With that in mind, let’s get onto Thursday’s inspiration:)
I began with a plain old manilla shipping tag from the office supply store. I opened an old magazine for my “drop cloth” and spritzed away with several ink sprays. Let colors dry between layers – start light, then add contrast with dark. Blot with a paper towel and use a heat gun if you desire to speed up drying time (and are impatient like moi).
Paint a little gesso square…or circle…or heart…whatever you choose – just keep the “message” size in mind (which you’ll see in the next step). Let gesso dry (feel free to use your heat gun again…if you’re impatient…like me).
I was thinking of “Alice in Wonderland”…sorta…when I wrote my message onto the gesso in free form fancy letters with Faber Castell’s Pitt Pens – excellent tools for writing on gesso and acrylics plus they are permanent! I added a little border around my message (cute!) and lined the outside of the tag for more contrast.
SMILE! It’s your close up! :)))))
And…voila! A tag for your weekend hostess gift! This tag fits wine, beer, tequila, vodka, seltzer and so on….very convenient indeed. Then…follow instructions:)
Have a Fabu weekend and visit tomorrow for Ms. J’s tutorial….CHEERS!
