After a long week of stress AND the kiddos being home on Spring Break, I greatly needed to decompress. Monday morning, I walked into my studio with no plan. I had a deadline, but no idea what I was going to do about it. (Reminds me of my favorite fabulous Calvin & Hobbes cartoon)
Luckily, once the house was quiet, inspiration did come. The following canvas was done with the Artistcellar 8 1/2 x 11 Arabian Nights Series Stencils. I used the Shooting Stars first as a light background and the used the Celestial to put the flowers on top. Absolutely love the designs on all four of the Arabian Nights Stencils. They are all simple and fun designs, that I am sure I will be using again and again.
The paint I used was just some blue and green acrylic that was still laying around my desk. I also used some Tim Holtz Black Soot and Salty Ocean Distress ink. I hand painted the word ART, and the “Be Strong”, “Be Brave”, and “Be Empowered” came from a Donna Downey Empowered Words stamp set. The large squiggle stamp is from 100 Proof Press.
I hope my canvas inspires you to go out and just create without a plan. It’s fun!!
