Vivian Helena Aumond! Congratulations!
You are the winner of the book Acrylic Solutions by Chris Cozen and Julie Prichard. Please send me your snail mail address (Lisa at artistcellar dot com) I hope you enjoy it and love it as much as I do.
I read about a lot of great ways people are organizing books. Love the rolly cart idea, where you can pull it out and stash it under a table quickly. I have too many books for that though. It seems we all like to group them by subject. And some even go and alphabetize them. That’s organization! Here is a little picture of my book shelves. I ended up putting my art books in IKEA Expedit shelves in the Master Bedroom because there was no room in the studio OR the big bookcase in the dining area downstairs. But that’s okay. I love surrounding myself with books
So about 6 of those cubbies are filled. One with textile art and surface design books, one with art journaling books, one with mixed media books… you get the idea. The magazine holders are holding random thin books (like my coloring books :-D) or random magazines. I still have another three cubbies with other artsy books, Art Journaling Magazines, Sew Somerset and Art Quilting Studio, and other random mags. This does NOT include every single issue of Cloth Paper Scissors magazine ever printed, almost every single Quilting Arts, and a LOT of Somerset Studio. Those are still in boxes. Sigh. I’m thinking of taking someone’s suggestion and ripping out the projects I want to keep and tossing the rest. It just breaks my heart to think about ripping up those gorgeous magazines! There’s just so many of them!
So tomorrow I will continue with my giveaways… need to put together something good. I have been PORING over the Design Team Applications all weekend. I expected about a dozen because I didn’t advertise it very much. Let’s just say my expectations were HUGELY exceeded! I am going to be honest here and say that I really DISLIKE this part of the job. There are so many qualified artists that I want to give a chance to, but I only have five spaces. I hate disappointing anyone. And I’m going to have to disappoint a lot of people. (Sad face) I hope you will still love me after all is said and done. I will make a final decision soon and contact the chosen few before I make a public announcement.
Have a great Monday!
